How you can get involved

From hands-on guided sanctuary visits to animal sponsorships, explore the meaningful ways you can connect with our residents and support our rescue mission.

Guided sanctuary tours

Experience an intimate behind-the-scenes walking tour across our 6-acre sanctuary. Meet horses, goats, piggies, our llama, and feathered companions while learning their unique rescue journeys. Tours are offered for a donation of $20 for adults and $15 for youth, with 100% of proceeds supporting resident care.

Sponsor an animal

Make an immediate, lasting impact on the life of an animal in need. Sponsoring a resident helps cover their specialized feed, nutritional supplements, routine veterinary checkups, and necessary medical rehabilitation.

Adoption applications

We gratefully welcome in-kind donations to keep our critters healthy and warm. Support us directly by providing straw and hay bales, wood shavings, poultry pellets, dog and cat food, or gifts via our Amazon Wishlist.

Feed and item donations

"Visiting Unicorn Ranch Rescue was one of the most heartwarming experiences our family has ever had. Meeting the sweet piggies and gentle tortoises while hearing their stories of resilience touched our hearts deeply."

Meet our resilient residents

Our sanctuary is home to an extraordinary family of survivors. Meet Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows—three gentle Yucatan pigs rescued from laboratory testing who now adore sunbathing and belly rubs. Discover Squishy, an abuse survivor who escaped a puppy mill and blossomed into a loving soul who adores Wilson, our livestock guardian dog. And visit Queen Elizabeth Taylor, our regal senior Siamese cat who survived poisoning on the streets of Los Angeles. Every animal here has found peace, safety, and lifelong love.

Learn more about visiting our sanctuary, making donations, and how your support directly changes animal lives every day.

What can I expect during a guided tour?

Our guided walking tours last approximately one to one and a half hours across our 6-acre sanctuary. You will meet and interact with horses, goats, piggies, our resident llama, tortoises, turtles, rabbits, turkeys, and more. You will hear their inspiring rescue stories and have plenty of opportunities for photos and snuggles.

How much does a tour cost?

Tours are provided for a requested donation of $20 for adults and $15 for youth. Because we are pending nonprofit status, 100% of tour donations go directly toward the feed, veterinary care, and housing of our animal residents.

Can I bring children or take photos?

Yes! Our tours are educational, family-friendly, and hands-on. Guests of all ages are welcome to take photos and videos to capture memories throughout their visit.

Where is the sanctuary located?

We are situated on six private mountain acres in North County San Diego, California. We provide full driving and parking directions upon tour booking confirmation.

What types of physical donations do you accept?

We warmly accept hay bales, straw bales, hay pellets, wood shavings, pelletized bedding, poultry feed, pig pellets, as well as quality dog and cat food. These may all be ordered through Deer Springs Feed Store, which is closest to us. You can also order directly through our Amazon Wishlist.

How does animal sponsorship work?

When you sponsor an animal, your recurring or one-time contribution helps cover the daily food, habitat enrichment, and routine medical needs of a specific resident like Squishy the pit-mix or our sweet Yucatan pigs.

Are you a registered nonprofit?

Unicorn Ranch Rescue is currently pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We operate as an independent rescue organization dedicated fully to all-species welfare and rehabilitation.

Can I volunteer at the ranch?

We are only accepting millitary volunteers at this time, as they are insured in case of incidents or mishaps.
